Back Bay Dominates Improper Awards
Enhancing its reputation as a prime commercial and entertainment district, the Back Bay took home over 26 percent of The Improper Bostonian’s "Boston’s Best" awards with particularly strong showings in the beauty, fashion and bridal categories…
Roseanna Martino, owner of the Improper’s top bridal gown salon, The Altered Bride, attributed the Back Bay’s dominance in the latter categories to the presence of Newbury Street, which she compared to Worth Avenue (in Palm Beach) and Rodeo Drive. "It’s a fashion street," she said. "It beckons and calls out to fashion." Martino noted that in the fashion business a location on Newbury Street "shows you’re credible."
