Renee Lanier McKown, a truly
Altered Bride.
Southern
bred through and through, I met a Yankee who wooed and wooed.
He dropped to one knee and asked me to be his bride, I
screamed "YES" and tears of joy I cried. Then excitement set
in or maybe it was panic, or stress? I had so much to plan,
the flowers, the invitations, and
the dress! I tried on gown after gown and nothing
seemed to do, I needed a break, so to my future Boston area
in-laws I flew. My sister-in-law knew of my feelings of
bridal gown defeat, So she set up a couple of appointments on
Newbury Street. The first stop didn't go so well. And back
into a depression I fell. Then after lunch, and a couple of
glasses of wine, We looked at our watches and realized it was
time. We strolled down the block, took the elevator for a
ride, And before we knew it we were at
The Altered Bride. The ladies were charming and the
gowns were divine. And soon I was saying, "This is it, this
one is mine!" Then the ladies made me the most beautiful
gown, And on March 31st I married my husband and changed me
name to McKown. Thank you, thank you for helping me feel the
greatest sense of pride. And I will always remember my trips
to Boston, and
The Altered Bride! |
